Mia can hold and shake her rattle now...

 

And Mommy finished Mia's Christmas stocking!  Now, I wonder just what Santa could leave in such a little baby's stocking...

The last week or so Mia has become much more alert and interested in her surroundings.  Today I was able to get a little video of her 'talking' while she was on her quilt with a book.  She really enjoys playing down there and most of all she seems to enjoy watching the dogs walk around her.  I'm usually hollering at Rio and Maizy to stay off the quilt, but Mia gets great practice at moving her head around and following them so I guess I should ease up.  They are much more interesting than looking at her toys I suppose.  And she doesn't seem to get annoyed when Maizy continually drops Pooh on her head.  Will she be an easy-going child?  I sure hope so! 

Ah, the joys of traveling in the winter...   we can't say Mia really likes her winter coats.  The other day Keith and I laughed when we realized that she looked like the little boy in the movie A Christmas Story when he was all bundled up and could barely move.  I think we're in for a LONG winter... I guess we should be thankful we don't live in the Arctic!
